Elmwood is a neighborhood in the Southwest section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. It borders the city line with Delaware County at Cobbs Creek, and extends to the Schuylkill River. The Eastwick neighborhood borders it to the southwest, and Kingsessing borders it on the northeast.

The Master Plan Study for the Lower Schuylkill River District is a collaborative effort to create a blueprint for high-quality sustainable redevelopment of the historically industrial corridor along the east and west banks of the Lower Schuylkill River in Philadelphia, PA.

Planners say a greener street with improved lighting at the underpass could better link Fishtown to the waterfront and PennTreaty Park. Some neighbors are concerned that too many trees could take up too many parking spaces. A compromise is in the works.
