Located along a section of Cottman Avenue, the Central Northeast has a variety of attractive housing choices and plentiful shopping. Key Issues are improving the design of shopping centers, neighborhood commercial revitalization and commercial signage, walkable communities and pedestrian safety, and safety of motorists and pedestrians on Roosevelt Blvd. Community leaders monitor zoning variances to preserve neighborhood character. Long range planning is needed for public transit and Transit-Oriented Development.
