The Delaware River Waterfront Corporation is starting the design phase of the multi-purpose Delaware River Trail.

The multi-purpose trail is a key component of the Central Delaware Master Plan – the long-range guide for the re-development of the Central Delaware waterfront.  The trail will allow bicyclists and pedestrians to travel along the Central Delaware – at the river's edge where possible, and along Delaware Avenue/Columbus Boulevard elsewhere – and will also link the proposed green areas, spaced every half-mile.

DRWC, the quasi-city agency which is overseeing the development of the master plan, has posted a Request for Proposals seeking a designer to develop “4.5 miles of the Delaware River Trail from Pier 72 South (approximately Mifflin Street) to   Lehigh Avenue.”

A mandatory pre-proposal meeting has been scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at DRWC offices, 121 N. Columbus Boulevard. Sealed bids are due Oct. 10. For more information, see the attached RFP.
