State lawmakers will next week consider a bill that would award the recently revoked Foxwoods Casino license to the highest bidder through a statewide auction.

The hearing on House Bill 65 is set to start at 10 a.m. in Room 60 of the east wing of the capitol.

While the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board has revoked the license awarded to build the casino at Delaware Avenue and Reed Street in South Philadelphia, Philadelphia Entertainment Development Partners, which held the license, plans to appeal the decision. They have until Monday to do so.  PEDP has also asked the gaming board to reconsider its decision to revoke. If the board should decide to reconsider, its enforcement arm - which recommended revocation - has an opportunity to file a response. Both the response and the documents filed by PEDP urging the reinstatement would be considered by the board.
