The SEPTA Board Thursday voted to split up the Route C bus, which runs down Broad Street, into two routes.

The new routes, 4 and 11, will run according to two different patterns the old Route C took off of Broad Street. Route 4 will provide service between Fern Rock Transportation Center and AT&T Station in South Philadelphia, while Route 11 will connect the Cheltenham and Ogontz Route and City Hall.

Service will not be altered, and SEPTA hopes the new designations will reduce confusion among riders about the two different patterns.

Timetables for the new routes will be released in February, and SEPTA will soon begin replacing bus signage to reflect the alteration.

Comments

Interesting that SEPTA chose to reuse Route 11 when it is already a Subway-Surface line route. I wonder why they did this. Up to now, none of the trolley routes were also used as bus routes.
