In an email sent to its members, the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia noted that the two bike sharing stations it set up during Park(ing) Day Philadelphia were huge successes. So successful, in fact, that ridership that day more than doubled the figures for Washington DC's SmartBikeDC program. While one bike in the SmartBikeDC system averages 1.25 usages per day, each Bike Share Philadelphia bike averaged 3 usages per day. 18 bicycles were available that day (9 per station), and there were 54 total rides taken.
