It was the commission's 11th meeting and the first in 2012.

 Chair Nancy Goldenberg began the session by announcing that the group would be focusing on safety and security for the public portion of the meeting.

Beginning Tuesday Dec. 20 and running through this week, we highlighted reporting by Steve Ujifusa (SS United States), Jared Brey (zoning), Anthony Campisi (transportation), JoAnn Greco (design, architecture and public space), Patrick Kerkstra (property tax delinquency, school closings), Kellie Patrick Gates (planning and the waterfront), Alan Jaffe (preservation), Amy Z. Quinn (Newsworks/Northwest Philadelphia), and PhiladelphiaNeighborhoods interns Kara Savidge and Christine Fisher (Philadelphia Housing Authority auctions, Mantua, Parkside and Philadelphia 2035).
