  • James Corner Field Operations has been working on the Design Development stage for the “Slice” scheme.  At a public meeting on April 6, 2010  the most current plans for the park will be presented.  The Delaware River Waterfront Corporation is seeking your your input on the park design to date.  The meeting will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 at the Pavilion at Festival Pier.   • Race Street Pier gets a slice of river life:  The chosen design, which has been called "The Slice," was the favorite of not only the members of the public who offered comments, but also the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation's Planning Committee. 

 

 

  • Field Operations bested three other finalists for the Pier 11 redo in what DRWC Director and Penn School of Design Dean Marilyn Jordan Taylor described as a tough decision for her committee. The other finalists were Andropogon, Michael van Valkenburgh Associates and W Architects.

 "In our discussions, one team emerged as providing the best fit with the project scope and opportunity," Taylor said. "Deciding factors included the quality of the approach and also the match of that approach with the defined construction budget as well as the schedule expectations for the project's completion."
