Society Created to Reduce Urban Blight (SCRUB) wrote yesterday that its appeal opposing the installation of an LED digital billboard on the 4800 block of James Street in Bridesburg has been granted. The case, which the organization says could adversely affect neighbors within a 500-foot radius of the signage, will be heard by the Zoning Board of Adjustment on August 18. The signage is proposed by adult video store Risque Video, which was granted a variance in April to install the sign despite zoning code laws that restrict billboards with flashing lights within 1,000 feet of residences.
