PlanPhilly: Planning Philadelphia's Future

The publication attended last week's Save Our Sites preservation group waterfront tour, a historical look at the Delaware shoreline's legacy before I-95 and Delaware Avenue bled into it "an endless stream of vehicles knifing through an area that was once the city’s stepping-stone to its future and, now, its history," writer Richard Carreno pens.

Preservationist Harry Kyriakodis led the tour, sharing stories about the Frankford El before construction of I-95, a now-demolished 18th century pub called Penny Pot Tavern, and Philadelphia's theoretical "Plymouth Rock," at Delaware Avenue between Vine and Callowhill Streets.
